Welcome to Kewanee Connection
Kewanee Connectionis a FREE, and I do mean FREE, web portal / Social Networking site, and anyone with a connection to Kewanee, Illinois is free to use it. If you lived there for 6 months or 100 years, if you graduated from Kewanee or Wethersfield High School, or if you’re just a frequent attendee of good ol’ Hog Days, then this site is open for you to play around with. All areas are open to everyone who registers for an account. There are no hidden charges, and no requests for credit card information. Non-members are free to look around, but they will not be able to post any entries, or contact people through the site.
Subtle Changes to the Site...
After interacting with a few portal users over the weekend I have adjusted a few settings on the site, and made the following changes.
All site members can now post html code in their posts so they can easily embed graphics and videos.
"Forums" menu link is now called "Discussion Forums."
"Add Event" menu link is now called "Add Calendar Event."
"Add News" menu link is now called "Add News Item."
"All Blogs" menu link is now called "Blogs Area."
"Blog Entry" menu link is now called "Create a New Blog."
"Chat" menu link is now called "Chat Room."
"Directory" menu link is now called "Phone Book."
"Gallery" menu link is now called "Image Gallery,"
Hopefully this will make things a little easier to understand the areas and how the site is laid out.
Just performed a core upgrade of the system code. The whole update went without a hitch. I have tested all of the areas that are running on the site, and there seems to be no problems.
